Toàn and Tâm

Chúng con là Toàn và Tâm Nguyễn, chúng con lập gia đình được 25 năm và có 3 con, hiện đang học đại học. Tâm tốt nghiệp nha khoa tại University of Pacific, San Francisco năm 1993 và hiện đang hành nghề tại San Jose, CA. Toàn Nguyễn tốt nghiệp kỹ sư tại Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo và hiện thời đang hành nghề tự do. Gia đình chúng con hiện là giáo dân thuộc giáo xứ Saint Francis of Asisi tại San Jose, California. Tại đây, gia đình chúng con từng tham gia nhiều sinh hoạt cộng đoàn cũng như tham gia ca đoàn và đảm trách ban nhạc.

Lúc các con còn nhỏ, chúng con giúp dạy chương trình giáo lý song ngữ và điều khiển ca đoàn thiếu nhi tại giáo xứ Most Holy Trinity, San Jose.

Nhìn lại thời gian đã qua, chúng con hằng ngày cảm tạ Chúa qua muôn hồng ân Chúa ban cho gia đình và luôn ao ước có cơ hội, thời giờ và tài năng để đền đáp ơn Chúa.

Gần đây chúng con đã thực hiện một vài chuyến hành hương riêng để viếng thăm các đền Đức Mẹ tại Mexico và Việt Nam. Tại Việt Nam chúng con đã có dịp thăm viếng một vài cơ sở bác ái, phần nhiều là các em khuyết tật gồm có trẻ mù, câm, điếc, các em nghèo, thực vật, và mồ côi. Chúng con đã thăm hỏi về cách tổ chức cũng như các nhu cầu cần thiết để giúp đỡ.

Chúng con thiết nghĩ An-Bình Charity sẽ giúp chúng con thực hiện ước nguyện như Thánh Phêro đã nhắn nhủ: “Ơn riêng Thiên Chúa đã ban, mỗi người trong anh em phải dùng mà phục vụ kẻ khác. Như vậy, anh em mới là những người quản lý giỏi giang về ân huệ thiên hình vạn trạng của Thiên Chúa”(1Peter 4,10)

We are Toan and Tam Nguyen. We’ve been married for 25 years and blessed with 3 children who are now in college. Tam graduated in 1993 from University of Pacific, School of Dentistry in San Francisco and has her own private practice in San Jose. Toan received a BS in Engineering from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo and currently enjoys being self-employed. We’re members of Saint Francis of Assisi parish in San Jose, California, and have actively taken roles in several ministries as well as participating in the choir and taking charge of the choir band.

When our children were younger, we served as volunteered catechist in the bi-lingual faith formation for youth ministry at Most Holy Trinity parish in San Jose.

Looking back over the years, we thank God for the blessings God has abundantly given us and have desired to devote our time and talents to return God’s favor and help others who are less fortunate.

Recently, we made several private pilgrimages to visit Marian shrines in Mexico and Vietnam. In Vietnam we made several visits to different local charitable facilities, particularly the physically and mentally handicapped and the underprivileged children along with the orphans. We had opportunities to witness and interview the leads of the operations as well as to interact with their residents.

By joining An-Bình Charity, we believe our goals and desire could be realized as stated from Saint Peter: “Each one of you has received a special grace, so, like good stewards responsible for all these different graces of God, put yourselves at the service of others.”(1Peter 4,10)
